On behalf of our client, we're seeking to recruit a performance-driven Relationship Officer to support business growth, client acquisition, loan disbursement, portfolio quality, and customer retention within a microfinance environment offering revolving credit. The role is responsible for growing and managing a quality loan book, ensuring timely repayments, minimizing delinquency, and delivering excellent customer service while meeting defined business and recovery targets.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and acquire new clients while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Match client financial needs with appropriate loan products and services.
  • Drive repeat borrowing and cross-selling of company products.
  • Educate clients on loan terms, repayment schedules, and benefits of good credit history.
  • Monitor client businesses and align repayments with cash flow cycles.
  • Follow up on repayments and ensure timely collections.
  • Manage delinquent accounts and pursue recovery until full settlement.
  • Assess borrower capacity to determine appropriate loan size and terms.
  • Collect customer feedback and support service and product improvement.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and maintain high service standards.
  • Build long-term client relationships to promote loyalty and retention.

Skills & Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in microfinance, sales, credit, or relationship management.
  • Good understanding of loan products and repayment management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and meet performance targets.
  • High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and report writing ability.
