Job Overview:

The Remote Learning Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective remote learning sessions to students in refugee and host communities. This role requires a strong understanding of online teaching methodologies, curriculum adaptation for remote delivery, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. The teacher will work closely with the education team to ensure the quality and impact of the remote learning program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver interactive and age-appropriate remote learning lessons across various subjects.
  • Adapt existing curriculum and teaching materials for effective online delivery.
  • Utilize various digital tools and platforms to facilitate learning and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and conduct assessments.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and the education team.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive online learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other IRC staff and partners to ensure program integration and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a refugee or humanitarian context.
  • Proven experience in online teaching and familiarity with digital learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom).
  • Strong understanding of child protection principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English and relevant local languages is an asset.

Desirable:

  • Experience in curriculum development for remote learning.
  • Training in psychosocial support for children.
