Background

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to improve food security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for better and more sustainable livestock. ILRI is a CGIAR research centre.

The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities

The Research Assistants will be responsible for the following:

  • Conducting field surveys and data collection.
  • Assisting in data entry and cleaning.
  • Supporting research activities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participating in team meetings and discussions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Animal Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in data collection and field research is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English and Swahili.

Experience

While prior experience is an advantage, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

This is a fixed-term contract position.
