Background
This role is for a Research Officer within the NEWRISK project, specifically focusing on WP4. The project aims to contribute to strategic goals and objectives through research and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of research protocols related to NEWRISK WP4 that are aligned to the Project’s strategic goals and objectives
- Participate in data collection, analysis, storage and interpretation of the NEWRISK WP4 Project data to identify insights.
- Develop, plan and implement community and stakeholder engagement activities in NEWRISK study areas as per the project community engagement and involvement (CEI) Gantt Chart.
- Network and collaborate with the other Departments, research groups and other internal and external stakeholders and support in Project Management to ensure quality of outputs and timely completion of the NEWRISK study Project deliverables.
- Contribute to report writing, dissemination and publishing of NEWRISK Study work by authoring in various reputable scientific journals, preparing policy briefs, manuscripts, blogs and disseminating at various internal and external meetings, conferences, workshops and other relevant Scientific forums
- Conduct capacity building on NEWRISK Study by developing learning materials such as handouts, and visual aids, interactive apps, videos, simulations and conducting necessary orientations, trainings and other interactive learning sessions.
- Supervise the assigned Staff by providing day to day supervision, coordination, mentorships and participate in other Project HR Management and operations activities.
- Contribute to the Project full compliance with all relevant internal ethical and Research Governance protocols, policies and procedures as well as all external legal, ethical and regulatory requirements by ensuring proper documentation and adherence at all Phases.
- Provide inputs and necessary technical support to the WP 4 Community Engagement Lead and Project PI and other Programme Researchers in identifying sustainable funding opportunities and developing proposals to secure Research Grants and funding.
Vacancy Requirements:
- Minimum Master’s Degree in Global Health, Public Health, or any other relevant field from a recognized university
- Minimum Three (3) Years experience in community and public engagement initiatives at a reputable Research institution
- Demonstrated experience in the use of current technology in Health Research.
- Demonstrated high levels of integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with internal and external collaborators
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to deliver quality outputs within strict timelines.
- Strong team coordination and decision-making skills
