Responsibilities or duties
Inventory & Asset Management
- Coordinate the daily issuance and safe return of departmental equipment to students and staff
- Perform regular inspections of the inventory to identify damage or wear
- Submit detailed reports on faulty instruments to the HOD and oversee the scheduling of professional repairs or tuning
- Oversee the organization and security of the Music Storeroom, ensuring instruments are stored under optimal environmental conditions to prevent damage
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor Degree in Music, Music Education, or related field
- Must possess strong skills and competencies in performing, teaching, and coordinating a wide variety of Western and African musical instruments
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in performing and teaching a variety of Western and African musical instruments
- Must be a registered member of a recognized professional body such as the Music Copyright Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional association in Kenya
- Must possess relevant professional qualifications in music performance, instruction, or instrumental training from a recognized institution
