Principle Accountabilities

Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary interface between Credit Analysis, Bank assurance, and Scheme Administration teams.
  • Support Business teams in serving customers efficiently by providing prompt feedback.
  • Deliver quality feedback and reports on returned loan applications, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.
  • Engage with Scheme Companies to confirm employee documents for timely loan processing.
  • Maintain and update Scheme Lists and contact details.

Credit Governance & Assurance

  • Perform thorough checks on KYC documentation and conduct callbacks as per policy:
    • Ensure loan applications include complete and valid KYC documentation.
    • Verify consistency between KYC details and other loan documents, requesting supporting explanations where discrepancies exist.
    • Confirm KYC documentation is properly certified by the respective branch.
    • Conduct callbacks for verification of introduction letters, bank statements, pay slips, and change of pay points.
    • Undertake physical visits to Employer offices when necessary.
  • Ensure efficient processing of personal banking loans to achieve a turnaround time of less than 1 day:
    • Process Scheme Unsecured Personal Loans within 6 hours.
    • Process Non-Scheme Unsecured Personal Loans within 9 hours.
    • Process Scheme Secured Personal Loans within 6 hours.
    • Process Non-Scheme Secured Personal Loans within 9 hours.
  • Maintain up-to-date registers for contact details of scheme and approved companies.
  • Maintain current contact lists and signatories for scheme and approved companies:
    • Keep an updated register and serve as custodian for approved signatories.
    • Continuously update contact details for approved signatories.
  • Conduct high-level checks to minimize reworks from Risk to the Governance team:
    • Ensure applications are complete and thoroughly processed.
    • Perform callbacks on loan documents.
    • Coordinate with the Sales team to highlight areas needing improvement.
  • Provide support for branch applications to reduce reworks:
    • Share regular daily and monthly reports highlighting training and process improvement needs.
    • Identify training needs and escalate them to the Credit team.

Operations & Audits

  • Ensure compliance with all credit policy guidelines.
  • Follow through with transactions to completion.
  • Address audit queries related to the credit governance process.
  • Champion the implementation of credit processes to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Identify training needs for loan application processing to reduce reworks and improve turnaround time.
  • Monitor turnaround times for applications from the Sales team and processing times between Credit Analysis and Evaluation.
  • Track applications at the conveyancing stage to ensure timely responses and meet customer commitments.

Revenue Generation & Cost Management

  • Minimize Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) by preventing fraudulent or suspicious loan applications.
  • Support Relationship Managers in achieving income targets (interest and non-interest income).
  • Manage office costs within reasonable levels.
  • Cross-sell bank products via email, phone calls, and physical callbacks.
  • Promote products that deliver quick income.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Professional Qualifications:

  • CPA or ACCA qualification.

Work Experience:

  • 3–5 years of banking experience, with at least 2 years in loans administration.
  • Knowledge of Credit and Operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
