Our client is a vibrant and growing FMCG retailer known for its exceptional products and customer experience. They are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the performance and operations of multiple store locations.

Job Overview:

The Retail Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall performance, operational excellence, and team development across multiple retail outlets. This role ensures that each store delivers outstanding customer service, achieves sales targets, maintains visual and brand standards, and operates efficiently and profitably. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, an inspiring leader, and a hands-on operator who can drive results through others.

Key Responsibilities:

Multi-Store Leadership & Performance:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of multiple retail stores within a designated area.
  • Drive sales growth and profitability across all locations by analyzing KPIs, identifying trends, and implementing action plans.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of sales, margin, inventory, and operational targets for each store.
  • Conduct regular store visits to audit standards, provide coaching, and support store managers.

Team Development & Management:

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop high-performing Store Managers and their teams.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and accountable culture across all locations.
  • Conduct performance reviews, manage succession planning, and address performance issues effectively.
  • Ensure all stores are adequately staffed and schedules are optimized.

Operational Excellence & Compliance:

  • Implement and standardize operating procedures (opening/closing, cash handling, inventory control, health & safety) across all stores.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, shrinkage prevention, and efficient replenishment.
  • Ensure all stores comply with company policies, as well as legal and safety regulations.
  • Manage store budgets, control operational expenses, and review store P&L statements.

Customer Experience & Brand Standards:

  • Champion an exceptional, consistent customer service experience at every location.
  • Ensure visual merchandising, store cleanliness, and brand presentation meet company standards.
  • Handle escalated customer service issues and ensure resolution in line with brand values.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Act as the vital link between senior management/head office and store-level teams.
  • Communicate company goals, initiatives, and product knowledge effectively to all stores.
  • Provide regular, detailed reports on area performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in retail management, with at least 2-3 years in a multi-unit or area management role.
  • Strong track record of driving sales and improving profitability in a retail setting.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams remotely.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, using data to make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in retail management systems, POS software, and MS Office.
  • Flexible to travel frequently between store locations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
