Job Purpose:
The Quality & Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards and safety regulations. The role involves conducting inspections, coordinating material testing, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safe and efficient site operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine site safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
- Monitor the use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and support permit-to-work processes.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Deliver safety inductions and training for employees and contractors.
- Inspect emergency equipment and ensure site emergency preparedness.
- Collaborate with project teams to promote a safe and compliant work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or Building Construction.
- At least 1-3 years’ experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of construction quality control standards and material testing procedures.
- Basic understanding of occupational health and safety requirements.
