Our Client LM Africa Services ltd is a Post – Harvest grain care sales, installation consultancy and support Company with experience in the industry spanning over 40 years specializing in provision of conveying, cleaning, destoning, color sorting, drying, storage, bulking, dust aspiration and flour milling equipment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a young, energetic, and self-driven Sales Engineer with a background in mechanical engineering and a strong understanding of post-harvest grain handling systems. This role combines field-based client engagement with technical design and in-office proposal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage prospective clients within the post-harvest grain handling industry.
- Discuss customer needs and propose effective design solutions or improvements to existing setups.
- Quickly sketch plant flow diagrams during client meetings to support solution discussions.
- Develop and submit detailed sales quotations based on field discussions and client requirements.
- Work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.
- Prepare and share weekly activity reports with company directors.
- Follow through on sales from client engagement to final commissioning of equipment.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven interest or experience in sales and design within the grain handling or related agricultural machinery sector.
- Experience in grain handling industry is preferred
- 3-5 proven experience is a similar role
- Ability to think on your feet, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Capable of producing quick hand-drawn technical sketches during client interactions.
- Proficient in preparing technical and commercial sales quotations.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation:
- A competitive basic salary.
- Attractive commission structure based on profit from sold and commissioned machines/plants.
