To work with organizations in identifying their Human resources challenges and provide support through implementation of solutions to build their capabilities and success for the ever dynamic future.
Our client is a trusted building materials supplier in Kenya, offering premium stone coated roofing tiles, fibre cement boards, light gauge steel structures and roofing materials for residential and commercial projects across Nairobi and the entire country. They are looking for an experienced professional to join the team as a SALES MANAGER to lead the sales team, deliver revenue targets and drive consistent growth in Nairobi and other regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies, plans, and pricing and promotional policies that deliver revenue targets and market expansion, informed by analysis of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Team Management and Development: Recruit, structure, train, and mentor a high- performing sales team across Nairobi and other regions, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering a collaborative, motivated working environment.
- Revenue and Target Management: Ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue targets, tracking performance against objectives and acting promptly on shortfalls.
- Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders, overseeing the resolution of customer issues and acting on feedback to strengthen satisfaction and loyalty.
- Regional Market Expansion: Lead the expansion of the company's footprint beyond Nairobi by identifying and developing new regional markets, partnerships, and distribution channels in coordination with local teams.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, pipeline and team performance reports for management, and collaborate with finance, logistics, marketing, customer service, and engineering to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in sales management, ideally in construction or building materials.
- Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong grasp of the construction materials market and its distribution channels.
- Solid skills in market analysis, strategic planning, and pricing.
- Proficient in CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Results-driven, well organised, and willing to travel to other regions as required.
