We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Sales Manager to lead and grow our sales function at iNet Africa, a leading Internet and IT solutions provider. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and execution skills who can build a high-performance sales team, drive predictable revenue, and align sales initiatives with business objectives.

As a Sales Manager, you will play a key role in shaping our commercial growth by driving the execution of the company’s sales strategy. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the overall sales strategy, while also mentoring and guiding your team toward achieving targets. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, product, technical, and customer success departments to ensure alignment and consistency across the customer journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive sales strategy to meet company growth objectives.
  • Design and continuously refine a structured sales pipeline and sales process from lead generation through to closing and post-sale support.
  • Create and manage detailed sales plans by segment, region, or service line to ensure consistent revenue growth.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance metrics and KPIs weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
  • Present strategic insights and growth recommendations to senior management.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage a team of sales executives and agents.
  • Define sales team roles, territory allocations, performance metrics, and incentive structures.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, pipeline reviews, and 1-on-1 coaching.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the sales department, including lead qualification, client presentations, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective lead generation campaigns and coordinate outbound strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through excellent service and regular engagement.
  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle, ensuring all documentation, reporting, and CRM entries are updated accurately.
  • Implement and oversee customer retention strategies to reduce churn and increase client lifetime value.
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, including underserved regions and verticals.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to position the company’s offerings effectively.
  • Represent the company at networking events, client meetings, exhibitions, and industry forums.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Sales Manager or Senior Sales Executive position, preferably in IT, SaaS, or Telecommunications.
  • Proven track record in designing and executing a successful sales strategy and pipeline.
  • Demonstrated experience in building, mentoring, and managing a sales team.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B and/or B2C tech sales cycles.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage pipelines and report performance.
  • Ability to showcase a real-life sales plan you developed and implemented, and the revenue results it achieved.
  • Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field.
  • Background in marketing strategy, especially digital or product marketing.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, SaaS models, and ISP service structures.
  • Exposure to startup or high-growth business environments.
  • Professional certifications in sales or leadership development.
