Background
Our client, a reputable company in the agricultural sector, is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join their team in Nyeri. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales, supporting distributor operations, managing customer relationships, and increasing product visibility across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively drive product demand and pull-through from assigned distributors by engaging agrovets, stockists, and farmers.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as set by the Sales Manager.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, providing product education and basic after-sales support.
- Monitor distributor stock levels, ensuring optimal stock movement while avoiding stock-outs or overstocking.
- Support payment collections from credit customers, highlighting any payment delays or risks to the Sales Manager.
- Gather and report market intelligence on customer preferences, competitor activities, and market trends.
- Execute promotional campaigns, activations, and represent the company during field days, exhibitions, and distributor-led events.
Key Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Agribusiness, or a related field.
- Must have 2-4 years of field sales experience, preferably within agriculture, animal health, or FMCG sectors.
- Must have excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Must be familiar with Nyeri and willing to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet targets with minimal supervision.
- Good organizational and reporting skills.
- Previous experience working with distributors will be an added advantage.
