SALES TEAM LEAD

Key Purpose:

To lead and develop the sales team in achieving sales, distribution, and revenue targets by executing effective sales strategies, strengthening customer and distributor relationships, and driving market growth within the assigned territory.

Job Description:

  • Drive achievement of sales volume, revenue, market share, and distribution targets within the assigned territory.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to deliver high performance and execute sales strategies effectively.
  • Manage distributor performance to ensure compliance with company standards, optimal stock availability, and route-to-market execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, key customers, and other trade partners to drive business growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, and recommend appropriate commercial actions.
  • Ensure effective execution of trade promotions, merchandising, product availability, and visibility standards in the market.
  • Monitor and safeguard company assets, including coolers, promotional materials, and other sales equipment.
  • Review sales performance, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales, market, and distributor performance reports within the required timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and health, safety, and quality standards.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG sales within a soft drinks, beverage, or food manufacturing company.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or Sales Team Lead role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing distributors, wholesalers, and retail channels.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales and volume targets.
  • Experience in Route-to-Market execution and territory management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in Sales or Marketing is an added advantage.
