Role Overview

The Sales & Marketing Agent will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing qualified leads, engaging prospective clients and converting prospects into clients for Athena Tax & Legal Advisory. The role combines B2B sales, business development, lead generation, relationship management and marketing support. The successful candidate will actively identify businesses that may require accounting, tax, payroll, legal, outsourced finance or CFO services; engage decision-makers; understand their challenges; present appropriate Athena solutions; arrange consultations and diagnostic sessions; follow up on opportunities; and contribute directly to revenue growth. This is a target-driven role suited to an energetic and commercially minded individual who enjoys prospecting, networking, building relationships and closing business.

Key Objectives of the Role

The Sales & Marketing Agent will be expected to:

  • Generate a consistent flow of qualified business leads.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline.
  • Establish relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers.
  • Generate appointments, consultations and financial/tax diagnostic sessions.
  • Convert qualified prospects into paying clients.
  • Increase awareness of Athena's services among target businesses.
  • Develop new business opportunities through direct and digital channels.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records.
  • Meet agreed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Support long-term client relationships, referrals and cross-selling opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation

  • Research and identify potential clients within Athena's target markets.
  • Develop prospect lists based on industry, company size, location and business needs.
  • Identify businesses experiencing accounting, tax, payroll, compliance or financial-management challenges.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through: Telephone calls, Email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Networking, Business events, Referrals, Strategic partnerships, Digital campaigns, Other approved sales channels.
  • Develop relationships with business owners, CEOs, CFOs, finance managers, HR managers and other decision-makers.
  • Maintain a consistent daily prospecting schedule.
  • Research prospects before initiating contact to ensure relevant and personalized communication.

Sales & Business Development

  • Introduce prospective clients to Athena and explain the company's value proposition.
  • Understand the prospect's business model, current challenges and requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for Athena's services.

Performance Metrics

Key performance indicators include:

  • Lead-to-meeting conversion rate.
  • Meeting-to-proposal conversion rate.
  • Proposal-to-client conversion rate.
  • Number of new clients acquired.
  • Monthly recurring revenue generated.
  • Total sales revenue generated.

Pipeline

  • Total qualified pipeline value.
  • Number of active opportunities.
  • Average deal value.
  • Sales-cycle duration.
  • Pipeline coverage against target.

Client Growth

  • Referral opportunities generated.
  • Cross-selling opportunities.
  • Upselling opportunities.
  • Client retention support.

Specific numerical targets will be agreed between the employee and management based on the company's commercial objectives and territory.

  • Demonstrable experience meeting sales or business-development targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
  • Good understanding of the sales process.
  • Ability to conduct effective prospecting and follow-up.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to use digital communication and social-media platforms professionally.
