School Librarian
2 Positions
Job Summary
Responsible for managing the school library, supporting students and teachers in accessing learning resources, and promoting effective reading and research practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the school library.
- Catalogue, classify, shelve, and maintain library materials.
- Issue and receive books and other library resources.
- Maintain accurate records of borrowed and returned materials.
- Assist students and teachers in locating appropriate resources.
- Promote reading, research, and responsible use of library facilities.
- Monitor the condition of library materials and report losses or damage.
- Maintain a quiet, organized, and conducive learning environment.
- Assist in acquiring and organizing new library resources.
- Prepare library reports and inventories.
- Enforce library rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or relevant qualification in Library and Information Science is preferred.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Computer literacy is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students and teachers.
- Previous library experience is an advantage.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 12
Level of Education: postgraduate degree
