Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Supervisor to join our security team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily security operations, manage access control systems, and ensure the safety and security of our facility, personnel, and visitors. As a Security Supervisor, you will demonstrate leadership, decisiveness, and a commitment to maintaining the highest security standards while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Report for duty according to the established roster schedule and attend mandatory pre- and post-shift briefings
- Oversee the Security Control Room and manage day-to-day security operations with efficiency and transparency
- Manage access points and control systems to ensure all entries are properly authorized and documented
- Maintain vigilant monitoring at entry points, including pass counters, to verify credentials of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
- Administer the Visitor Management System and Casual Labor System with accuracy and attention to detail
- Monitor CCTV coverage throughout the facility and promptly report any system issues or security concerns to management
- Conduct roving security patrols within and around the premises, including guest areas and operational zones
- Perform static lobby and convention center coverage duties as assigned
- Respond promptly to all security, safety, and medical emergencies with decisiveness and composure
- Serve as an active member of the Emergency Response Team to coordinate and manage emergency situations
- Conduct inventory checks of security keys, access passes, and related equipment
- Handle Lost and Found inquiries, reports, and documentation with care and professionalism
- Manage and address all alarms on Fire and Life Saving Systems (FPLS) and emergency systems according to established procedures
- Provide lift control and VIP escort services as required
- Perform First Aid, CPR, and AED assistance when needed
- Resolve safe box and door lock issues without delay
- Conduct crowd control and ushering duties during events and emergencies
- Gather, document, and analyze information related to security incidents and emergencies
- Ensure all official security documents are handled accurately in compliance with standard operating procedures
- Maintain keen awareness of security protocols and communicate effectively with team members and management
- Perform additional security and safety tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Security Studies / Security Management / Criminology or a related field - Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies, Criminology, or a related field
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in hotel security, private security, or law enforcement at a supervisory level
- Valid Officer Certification as required by local Kenyan authorities for Security Supervisor positions
- Current Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) Certificate
- Valid occupational CPR and AED certification
- Basic Fire Fighting certification
- First Aid Management certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fire Prevention and Protection of Buildings
- Proficiency with CCTV systems, access control systems, and security management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately
