Main tasks and responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities.
Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
Prepare financial management reports.
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Compute taxes and prepare returns, ensuring compliance with payments, reporting and other tax requirements.
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
Analyse and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues.
Analyse financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
Assist in management of Asset and inventory register.
Carry out any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications and Experience.
A degree in accounting or finance from a recognized institution.
Be a Certified Public Accountant (K).
Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
Computer literate with knowledge of one or more accounting software preferably Microsoft Navision.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Accountant or in a comparable position.
Those with experience working in non-profit organizations have an added advantage.
Required skills and experiences
Skills and Competencies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate strong ability to coordinate and manage multiple teams, partners, and maintain strong relationships with government entities, donors, and other stakeholders.
