Position: Senior Accountant

Company: Jab Tribe (a growing Kenyan Fashion Brand)

Location: Head Office in Nairobi

Department: Finance and Accounting

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, supplier reconciliations, and payment scheduling.

Manage petty cash and staff expense reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation.

Monitor and reconcile bank, MPesa, and cashbook balances; update and monitor daily cash flow.

Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, NHIF, and NSSF, in full compliance with KRA and other regulatory requirements.

Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial statements, and present key findings.

Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data at all times through regular reconciliations.

Manage and update the fixed asset register, ensuring correct depreciation and amortization of assets.

Prepare and maintain audit schedules, support external audits, and ensure timely resolution of audit queries.

Review and improve the internal control system, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA (minimum Section 4) or equivalent qualification.

Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, ideally in retail or FMCG.

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.

Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
