Senior Accountant

Position Summary :

This role is responsible for coordination and support of accounting activities of the company, including preparing management accounts and credit control management under the direct supervision of the chief accountant. 

Location: Redhill, Limuru

Industry : Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure all company transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies resolved promptly.
  • Manage credit control activities, including monitoring customer accounts, following up on outstanding payments, and maintaining healthy cash flow.
  • Prepare and update cash flow statements to track liquidity and support financial planning.
  • Oversee working capital management to ensure efficient utilization of company resources.
  • Prepare and reconcile inventory reports to ensure accuracy between physical stock and system records.
  • Reconcile and submit monthly statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, Withholding Tax, and Withholding VAT) in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Ensure daily van sales reconciliations are completed accurately and all variances are resolved.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable team, ensuring supplier payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Oversee the invoicing team to confirm all invoices are prepared correctly and dispatched promptly.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team to ensure daily inventory postings are updated and cost prices are accurately maintained.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to reconcile expenses and revenues related to marketing events and promotions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or director to support departmental and organizational goals.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or accounts.
  • CPA / ACCA will be an added advantage Experience:
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar position Behavioural Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of commitment to duty and discipline.
