Background

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the organization’s financial integrity by ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and timely delivery of financial and management accounts. This role supports strategic decision-making through financial analysis, process improvement, and effective collaboration across departments, while also guiding junior team members.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare, review, and analyse Management Accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to support leadership in decision-making.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison for auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Review and approve journal entries, expense reports, and other financial transactions.
  • Support, guide, and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a high-performance team culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide accounting guidance for new projects and business initiatives.
  • Issue P&L Statements

Key Qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, including exposure to management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reporting standards, and local tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
