Responsibilities or duties

Advise clients on a broad range of commercial law matters including contract law, company law, energy, mining, projects and PPPs, capital markets, M&A, employment, and regulatory compliance. Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, service agreements, procurement contracts, and technology contracts. Undertake legal due diligence processes, deal structuring, and execution of corporate transactions. Provide strategic legal advisory on employment matters, data protection, ESG, and anti-bribery compliance. Advise on structuring of businesses including family-owned-businesses, multinationals, not- for- profit organizations etc. Support business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

An LL. B Degree with at least Second-Class Upper Division from a recognized university. Proven ability to manage client matters independently, including supervision of junior lawyers. Passionate and enthusiastic about the law and its developments. Possess a reputation for the highest ethical standards and integrity.

Experience needed

At least Five (5) years of relevant post-admission experience in a reputable law firm. Proven experience in corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, and commercial transactions. Expertise in entity set-up and registration (local and cross-border), corporate governance, and company secretarial support. Strong advisory experience in regulatory compliance, licensing, and sector-specific frameworks such as financial services, real estate, ICT, and energy. Strong knowledge and practical experience in Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), and Fintech.
