In its quest to improve health care provision and specialization of health workers, NCMTC is recruiting two Senior Clinical Officers to lead the development, accreditation, implementation and continuous improvement of Higher Diploma programs in Clinical Medicine and Surgery within the assigned specialty area, while providing academic, clinical, and professional leadership to learners, faculty, and institutional stakeholders. Initially, the emphasis will be on Reproductive Health (Machakos Campus and Ophthalmology (K Campus) but the staff will also be expected to initiate and guide the establishment of additional post-basic courses across the NCMTC campuses. This position is co-financed by Comundo, a Swiss NGO.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Lead the development, accreditation, and implementation of Higher Diploma programs in the assigned specialty area
  • Coordinate curriculum design, review, and continuous improvement
  • Promote innovation, and evidence-based clinical practice
  • Build strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions, professional bodies, and other stakeholders
  • Perform any other duties related to specialist clinical training and program development as may be assigned

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Higher Diploma in the relevant clinical specialty from a recognized institution
  • Bachelor's degree in a Health related field
  • Valid professional registration and practicing license.

Experience needed

Experience with providing and/or coordinating e-learning and blended learning

Experience with NCMTC teaching and learning methodologies

Research and evidence-based practice

Quality assurance and regulatory compliance

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

  • Academic and clinical leadership

Added Advantage:

  • A Master's degree in Clinical Medicine, Medical Education, Public Health, Health Professions Education, or a related field
