JOB DETAILS:
Senior Grants Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
• Grant financial management and reporting
• Cash and bank management to ensure funds available for smooth running of program activities and accurate data is available for reporting.
• To ensure timely activities implementation and maintain a good relationship with the program vendors, sub-recipients and other partners
• Partnering to ensure timely settlement of financial claims relating to the grant in accordance with the WV and donor policies
• Preparation and participation in program audits and reviews to enhance the performance rating of the grant and ensure audits and reviews are done in a timely manner with good results
• Ensure smooth program implementation through effective partner engagement and risk assurance.

Essential:
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from a reputable institution of higher learning
• A professional Accountant – CPA, ACCA, CIMA finalist.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance and grant management roles preferably in International NGOs.
• Experience with major multilateral and governmental donors- Global Fund, UN organizations, World Bank, USAID, SIDA etc
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash-flow monitoring and internal accounting controls.
• Good knowledge of procurement processes and internal control systems.
• Must have good working knowledge of computerized accounting software, preferably in Sun Systems & Vision and literacy in using Microsoft Office programs.
• Knowledge in advanced excel preferred.
