Job Objective
Zetech University is seeking a strategic, forward thinking, industry connected, and student centric Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security and forensics with entrepreneurial acumen to foster teaching, research and innovation ecosystems. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the capability to bridge and academia and grow graduate employability while ensuring sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
They will be reporting to the Head of Department ICT, Media and Engineering and will be responsible for:
- Teaching Cyber Security & Forensics units allocated by the Head of Department.
- Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
- Delivering high-quality lectures.
- Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
- Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.
- Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
- Seeking and participating in consultancies.
- Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
- Disseminating research outputs.
- Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a relevant PhD, master’s and bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security /forensics or a relevant field from an accredited and recognised University.
- At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer/ Research Fellow.
- Has evidence of publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow. At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the University level
- Has demonstrable leadership and administrative experience. Experience as a Senior Lecturer, programme leader, post graduate coordinator or other relevant management experience will be highly considered.
- Supervised at least two (2) postgraduate students to completion.
- Attracted research funds.
- Has evidence of attending and contributing at academic conferences, seminars and workshops.
- A technological visionary with the agility to lead the school to stay relevant in the rapidly changing technological landscapes.
- Demonstrable skills as a strategic leader who bridges academia and industry, focusing on sustainable growth and market-driven educational value.
- Is up to date with industry standards and has established noteworthy linkages with the industry.
- Has demonstrated firm commitment to sustainability in their previous roles.
- Is a member to a relevant professional body.
