Summary

The Company is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Manager to oversee all logistics, warehousing, distribution, dispatch, and fleet operations across the business. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and timely movement of goods from production through to customers, while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and high service levels. The Senior Logistics Manager will optimise logistics processes, strengthen systems, manage teams, and support the Company’s growth by ensuring operational reliability and cost efficiency. Responsible for recruitment and training of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Inbound and Outbound Logistics

  • Oversee inbound raw material receipts, documentation, and storage accuracy.
  • Manage outbound dispatch, loading, routing, and delivery planning.
  • Ensure timely distribution to customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong coordination with Production, Sales, and Supply Chain.

Warehousing and Inventory Management

  • Oversee warehouse operations, including storage, picking, staging, and loading.
  • Ensure accurate stock records, cycle counts, and inventory controls.
  • Maintain structured warehousing layouts and FIFO or FEFO practices.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives across storage and handling.

Fleet and Transport Management

  • Manage Company trucks, vans, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Monitor driver performance, route adherence, and safe driving standards.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules.
  • Manage fuel usage, GPS tracking, and transport cost optimisation.

Logistics Systems and Compliance

  • Strengthen logistics processes, SOPs, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee use of logistics systems, barcoding, tracking tools, and ERP or HRMIS integration.
  • Provide timely and accurate logistics reporting and KPIs to management.

Continuous Improvement and Cost Management

  • Analyse logistics data to improve efficiency, reduce losses, and optimise costs.
  • Drive projects on route optimisation, warehouse efficiency, and operational discipline.
  • Work with procurement and finance on cost controls and supplier management.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop teams across warehousing, dispatch, transport, and logistics coordination.
  • Responsible for recruitment and training of the team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and capability development.
  • Build a disciplined, safety-focused, and high-performance culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum seven to ten years’ logistics and distribution experience, with at least three years in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of warehousing, fleet management, routing, dispatch, and inventory control.
  • Experience in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environment is an advantage.
  • Proficient in logistics systems, ERP platforms, and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
