Senior Machinist

  • Set up and run various machine tools on all machine shop machines.
  • Operating the machine safely and competently in accordance with manufacturers’ operating instructions and ensuring good safety and housekeeping.
  • Ensure all components produced meet specifications using appropriate measuring equipment’s such as (Micrometers, Vernier caliper, Bore Gauges etc.).
  • must be able to select suitable tools and inserts and cutters.
  • Submits daily working progress including record for material consumed labor and machine hours.
  • Must be able to work within very close tolerances and be able to work in a production setting to meet on-going production targets.
  • Read drawings, job orders, tooling instructions or standard charts to determine specification procedures.
  • Perform medium machine maintenance.
  • Good work ethics and flexibility to work overtime and shift is a must.
  • You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality, cost and delivery.
  • To avoid rejection and maintain the quality of production.
  • Handel jobs which are beyond the capacity of lower machinist when assigned by his   in charge.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Handel cleaning and lubrication of all machines under his custody.

v  Issue materials and hand over finished products from and to tools keeper through formal records.
