Role Context:
The Senior Manager, Business Development will be responsible for driving Visa’s business growth in Kenya by identifying and developing new opportunities, managing key client relationships, and executing strategic initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of the payments landscape, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in business development and sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for Kenya to achieve revenue and market share growth targets.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities with financial institutions, merchants, fintechs, and other key stakeholders.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and deal closure.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, product, legal, operations) to develop and deliver tailored solutions to clients.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of Visa’s product and service offerings based on market needs and client feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or relationship management, preferably within the financial services or payments industry.
- Strong understanding of the Kenyan market and the payments ecosystem.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or relationship management.
