Senior Manager-Central Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

Location: Kikambala

Key Responsibilities

1 Freight & Logistics Management

Negotiate competitive freight rates (air, ocean, parcel, domestic).

Manage carrier contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.

Monitor freight markets and resolve shipment delays proactively.

2. Market Intelligence & Forecasting

Track global commodity markets (edible oils, raw materials, plastics), including price trends and risk factors.

Prepare dashboards and provide short- and long-term market forecasts for management.

3. Strategic Procurement

Identify optimal buying windows and recommend cost-effective purchasing strategies.

Explore bulk/forward contracts and global sourcing options to reduce cost and ensure supply continuity.

4. Supplier & Risk Management

Develop and manage international supplier networks.

Negotiate commercial terms and consolidate volumes for better leverage.

Assess supply chain risks and implement mitigation or hedging strategies while ensuring policy compliance.

Qualitications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Agriculture, Food Technology, or related field.

Strong experience in the inbound and outbound logistics which includes LCL, FCL, ocean, air, parcel.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in freight management, procurement, trading, commodity analysis, or sourcing.

Strong experience in the edible oil sector (CPO, olein, stearine, PFAD, etc.)—trading or procurement.
