Job Description
Our client, a leading developer and operator of rental housing, is seeking to hire a senior manager of sales and partnerships. The role is responsible for driving occupancy, revenue growth, and strategic partnerships with universities, colleges, foundations, and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will lead the university alliance team, engage institutions to generate demand, coordinate campaigns aligned with academic calendars, and ensure strong customer acquisition across multiple properties. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical skills are essential for this position.
The role reports to the Chief Operations Officer and oversees a team of 1 University Alliance Manager and 3 Senior University Alliance Executives.
Job Responsibilities
Occupancy and Revenue Generation:
- Anticipate accommodation demand across target universities and colleges through stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare and execute promotional campaigns to ensure ramp-up, stabilization, and backfilling across properties.
- Generate high-quality leads converting to actual check-ins.
- Engage stakeholders including foundations, HELB, MoE, Commission of University Education, TVET Authority, KATTI, and marketing influencer networks.
- Stabilize properties through early bookings and implementation of signed MOUs.
- Create promoters and influencers within the university ecosystem to spread awareness and referrals.
- Reach out to high school students with interventions highlighting accommodation services.
- Build and nurture relationships with key B2B accounts to secure business and mitigate operational challenges.
Campaign Management:
- Onboard, engage, and retain key stakeholders, influencers, and brand promoters within the university alliance ecosystem.
- Align promotional campaigns with university/college calendars (academic and non-academic events).
- Work closely with marketing and property operations teams to create a positive feedback loop.
- Deploy mutually beneficial interventions supporting lead generation and brand visibility.
- Design and implement university alliance tactics to grow the partner portfolio.
- Continuously analyze trends based on university calendars, property churn, occupancy, demographics, and referral effectiveness to improve campaigns.
- Develop and implement an onboarding matrix for university alliance and retail partners to ensure exceptional experience.
People and Culture:
- Develop and drive a customer-centric and performance-driven culture within the department.
- Establish effective and efficient departmental systems, processes, and procedures to meet business objectives.
- Ensure the department is adequately resourced in terms of people, equipment, software, training, and other facilitation needs.
Other Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Administration (MBA is an added advantage).
- 8–12 years of working experience.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
- Customer-centric approach to meet internal and external stakeholder needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid team environment with multiple stakeholders.
