- Surge Energy Ltd, a leader in LPG cylinder manufacturing, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance Department, supporting the company\'s mission of maintaining operational excellence by keeping production equipment running efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring equipment uptime and production continuity by:
- Leading routine and emergency mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, minimizing disruptions to operations.
- Coordinating and executing preventive maintenance plans, updating checklists, and tracking completed tasks using maintenance logs.
- Guiding and mentoring junior technicians and maintenance assistants, promoting skill development and teamwork.
- Reviewing technical drawings and machine manuals, interpreting specifications for accurate repairing and fitting.
- Participating in installation and commissioning of new machinery, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and safety compliance.
- Monitoring equipment performance and recommending modifications or replacements for worn-out parts and obsolete systems.
- Collaborating with the production team to identify recurring issues and proposing long-term solutions for system improvement.
- Enforcing strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area.
- Preparing maintenance reports and feedback summaries, supporting continuous improvement and audit readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Holding a Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or a related field.
- Possessing at least 5 years of hands-on experience in a busy manufacturing environment, preferably in LPG cylinder production or metal fabrication.
- Demonstrating expertise in handling hydraulic presses, welding machines, jigs, rollers, and mechanical handling systems.
- Understanding and applying predictive maintenance tools and techniques, including vibration analysis and lubrication tracking.
- Showing capability in using tools for measuring, aligning, and calibrating equipment precisely and safely.
