The Senior NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving network issues, configuring network devices, and supporting automation initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring optimal performance of our network infrastructure, fast resolution of customer escalations, and collaboration with the development team to improve monitoring and reliability tools.


Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor network infrastructure using Zabbix and other tools to ensure performance, availability, and early detection of issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network problems across routers, switches, wireless equipment, and backbone infrastructure.
  • Configure, update, and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and any other related network hardware as needed.
  • Set up, maintain, and optimize network monitoring systems like Zabbix to ensure accurate, real-time visibility of the network.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team to design and implement scripts and automation for proactive network monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Protect the network from threats and unauthorized access through regular monitoring and security best practices.
  • Oversee and manage the deployment of network infrastructure.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for customer service teams, handling and resolving network-related client complaints efficiently.
  • Conduct regular network audits, performance assessments, and system health checks, and prepare actionable reports for internal review.
  • Manage and support last-mile wireless and radio technologies used in the delivery of network services to clients.
  • Lead root cause analysis for major incidents, document findings, and implement long-term corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of network architecture, changes, incidents, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call schedule to support network operations and ensure the network remains online and stable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a NOC or network engineering role.
  • Relevant certifications such as MTCNA, CCNA, JNCIA, or Palo Alto will be considered a strong added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of core networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, and Traffic Engineering.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Mikrotik routers and wireless network devices.
  • Practical experience with radio and wireless technologies, especially for last-mile connectivity.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell for network automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript) to support automation and integration.
  • Proven experience with network monitoring tools, particularly Zabbix.
  • The candidate should demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Strong analytical,communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage pressure, and collaborate effectively within a team.
