JKUAT Enterprises Ltd (JKUATES) is a state corporation fully owned by JKUAT. Through research, consulting, training, and innovation, we deliver tailored advisory services to both public and private sector clients.

Our client, in the financial sector, is seeking to recruit suitably qualified, experienced, result-oriented and highly motivated Kenyans to fill the following vacant position.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Maintaining office diary, appointments and travel itineraries.
  • Managing office protocol and etiquette.
  • Preparing responses to routine correspondence.
  • Taking oral dictation.
  • Using e-office to research and process data.
  • Operating office equipment.
  • Attending to visitors/clients.
  • Handling telephone calls.
  • Handling customer inquiries and complaints; coordinating schedules of meetings and appointments.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Ensuring security of office records, equipment and documents including classified materials.
  • Ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of information.
  • Maintaining an up to date filing system in the office.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Cumulative period of six (6) years’ relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at the level of Office Administrator I or in a comparable position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: - Secretarial Studies or in Business and Office Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences plus a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
