Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sr. Procurement Operations Manager to lead our procurement and supply chain functions. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing inventory levels across our network. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement best practices, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in managing complex supply chains, preferably within the healthcare sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support Penda Health’s growth and operational needs.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and fostering strong partnerships.
- Optimize inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing holding costs.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
- Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their procurement needs and provide timely support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in managing complex procurement operations, preferably within the healthcare or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
