Role Context

The Senior Programme Officer will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of MSI Choices' programs. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and project management skills to drive impactful initiatives and contribute to the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

The Senior Programme Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing and managing program strategies and work plans.
  • Overseeing the implementation of program activities and ensuring they align with organizational goals.
  • Monitoring program progress, evaluating outcomes, and preparing regular reports.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, partners, and community leaders.
  • Managing program budgets and ensuring financial accountability.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to program staff and partners.
  • Identifying opportunities for program growth and sustainability.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program management, preferably within the reproductive health or development sector.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, project implementation, and M&E.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan health system and reproductive health landscape.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
