About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Python Developer to join our growing engineering team at Skytop Africa. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions that drive innovation across industries including education, manufacturing, and smart systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems using Python
• Lead architecture decisions and contribute to system design for enterprise-grade applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers
• Build and integrate APIs, microservices, and third-party systems
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices
• Participate in DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and monitoring
• Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and adherence to standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Python development
• Strong experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and system design
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency with Git, Docker, and CI/CD tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Nice to Have

• Experience in AI/ML integrations or data engineering
• Knowledge of CAD/BIM-related systems or industrial software solutions
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, Vue.js)
• Previous experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
