JOB DETAILS:
Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, accurate budgeting, procurement, valuation, and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
- Manage project costs from inception through completion.
- Conduct valuations of completed works and prepare payment certificates.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review contractor quotations, variations, claims, and invoices.
- Assist with tender evaluation and procurement processes.
- Prepare financial reports and cost forecasts.
- Monitor contractual obligations and support contract administration.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Ensure projects remain within approved budgets and timelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional registration with the relevant Kenyan professional body is an advantage/required where applicable.
- Significant experience in quantity surveying, preferably in construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, costing, procurement, and project financial management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying and cost-management software is an advantage.
