Responsibilities or duties
The: Record Management Senior is responsible for the following functions;
- Receiving, opening, sorting and recording mails;
- Maintaining registers for incoming and outgoing mails;
- Ensuring security of files and documents;
- Ensuring all pending correspondences are brought to the attention of supervisor and appropriate action taken;
- Preparing appraisal and disposal schedule of files and documents in liaison with relevant agencies; and
- Digitizing NLAS documents for circulation and archiving.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Experience needed
At least nine (9) years cumulative work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Records management officer I or in a comparable position in the Private or the Public sector;
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Record Management, Archives and Records Management, Technology in Archives and Records Management, Information Management, Archives or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Remuneration will be in accordance with NLAS Salary Scale:
NLAS GRADE 6. Kshs. 90,468 x 7,388 – 97,856 x 7,391 – 105,247 x 7,391 – 112,638 x 7,391 – 120,029 x 7,391 – 127,420 x 7,391 – 134,811 x 7,391 – 142,202 p.m
NOTE: NLAS Grades 1, 2 & 3 are on a three-years contract basis, renewable once while the rest are on permanent and pensionable terms
Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya and shall be required to present the following documents before being issued with an offer letter;
- Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority;
- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
- Certificate of Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau; and
- Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board or proof of ongoing repayments.
