Responsibilities or duties
Duties and Responsibilities entail:
- Overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures in security management;
- Providing security advisory to management and intelligence information services;
- Coordinating the preparation of security reports for decision making;
- Facilitating the identification of security risks within the organization and providing mitigation measures;
- Coordinate security efforts across the organization to cover all staff, students and visitors, properties, equipment, and machinery;
- Overseeing the implementation of sustainable security systems and monitoring the same to identify areas of improvement in the security of the organization;
- Spearheading the implementation of CCTV surveillance in the organization and liaising with the ICT team to ensure real-time collection of surveillance information;
- Facilitating security sensitization programs for staff and coordinating training for the same;
- Spearheading relationships with law enforcement and other related government agencies;
- Overseeing the patrol operations and managing the outsourced security guards;
- Investigating security breaches and closing all security cases within set time periods;
- Ensuring the establishment and maintenance of an up-to-date databank of security incidents and trends and reporting for management information and security action;
- Reviewing Security Intelligence and investigation Reports; and
- Maintaining and archiving security footage.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Required Qualification:
For appointment to this grade, a staff must have: -
- Cumulative Service period of three (3) years of which should be in the grade of Security Officer I or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor degree in Criminology & Security Studies or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in basic security from a recognized institution;
- current Certificate of good conduct from the Kenya Police Service; and
- Proficiency in computer applications
