Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Shop Attendant to join our client's team in the wines and spirits retail sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of the retail outlet.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide product information and recommendations to customers.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop floor and stockroom.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including age verification for alcohol sales.
  • Assist with visual merchandising and product displays.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably in the wines and spirits industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of wines and spirits is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Must be of legal age to sell alcohol.

Experience

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a retail store environment, which may require standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights.
