Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Silk Screen Operator / Press Operator to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Responsibilities or duties
The Silk Screen Operator / Press Operator is responsible for operating silk screen and press equipment to produce printed materials in accordance with Navy quality standards and production requirements. Responsibilities include setting up screens, preparing inks, aligning materials, and operating manual or automated presses to produce accurate, high‑quality prints.
The operator monitors press operations, adjusts settings as needed, and inspects finished products to ensure color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality. This role includes following established production schedules, maintaining consistent output, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Additional duties include cleaning and maintaining screens and press equipment, managing ink and supply inventory, documenting production output, and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. The Silk Screen Operator / Press Operator supports mission‑driven printing and production needs in a remote environment.
Qualifications or requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge of screen preparation, ink handling, and press operation
Ability to follow production specifications and quality standards
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods and handling materials
Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally
Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Experience needed
1–3 years of experience in silk screen printing, press operations, or related production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce
Experience producing signage, apparel, forms, or printed materials
Familiarity with print production workflows and quality control processes
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Valid country driver’s license
Ability to obtain country‑specific visa(s) in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide
