Responsibilities

Social Media Creation, Management & Execution

  • Develop, manage, and grow Avenews’ social media channels, with a strong focus on launching and scaling TikTok.
  • Strengthen organic presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Create platform-specific content that fits each channel’s format, audience, and engagement style.
  • Plan and manage content calendars aligned with the brand strategy and field activity plans.
  • Identify trends, new formats, and early opportunities to increase visibility and engagement.

Content Creation (Video + Visual + Copy)

  • Produce short-form videos, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, educational clips, and storytelling pieces.
  • Capture and edit content during field trips, events, trainings, activations, and customer visits.
  • Maintain consistent brand tone, voice, and visual style in collaboration with the Branding Manager.
  • Optimize posts for reach, engagement, and relevance across platforms.

Digital Community Building

  • Lay the foundation for Avenews’ digital community across platforms.
  • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Spark conversations that build trust, interest, and loyalty.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with micro-influencers or customer ambassadors.

Real-Time Engagement & Event Activation

  • Provide real-time social coverage during field events, workshops, activations, expos, and conferences.
  • Work closely with Field Officers and Customer-facing departments to capture live content and stories.
  • Turn real-world moments into digital content that reflects the brand and the communities we serve.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Monitor social media performance, content engagement, and community growth.
  • Identify top-performing content and areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to the Branding Manager and the broader team.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing.
  • Proven experience with short-form video creation (TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts).
  • Strong video editing and mobile content capture skills.
  • Understanding of the Kenyan social media landscape and content trends.
  • Prior experience managing brand social accounts (fintech, agriculture, FMCG, or services preferred).
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone per platform.
  • Willingness to travel for field-based content creation.
  • Creative, proactive, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
