Responsibilities

Provides psychosocial support and social care to patients and their families.

Psychosocial Assessment:

Assess the psychosocial needs of patients and families, identifying social issues, financial constraints, and emotional distress affecting child health.

Counseling:

Provide individual and family counseling to support patients and families through medical challenges, grief, and adjustment issues.

Referrals and Advocacy:

Link families with community resources, social services, and welfare programs to address identified needs and advocate for their rights.

Case Management:

Coordinate care with the medical team and manage complex social cases to ensure continuity of support.

Patient/Family Support:

Provide guidance on child protection, mental health, and strategies to reduce stress during hospitalization.
