Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive GBV Action Plan aligned with World Bank ESF requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing GBV risk assessments and maintain an up-to-date risk register.
  • Ensure confidential GBV reporting mechanisms are accessible to all project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local service providers and NGOs to facilitate referral pathways for GBV survivors.
  • Monitor sub-contractor compliance with GBV-related contractual obligations and training.
  • Lead implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP), ensuring meaningful consultation with vulnerable groups.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to labor influx, including potential social tensions and health risks.
  • Lead grievance redress mechanisms (GRM), ensuring they are gender-sensitive and widely publicized.
  • Build capacity of contractors, project staff, and local partners on GBV prevention and response and social safeguards.
  • Establish and maintain systems for tracking social and GBV indicators, conducting regular monitoring and reporting.

Requirements

  • Relevant academic qualification (e.g., in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Gender Studies).
  • Proven experience in GBV risk mitigation and response in development or humanitarian contexts.
  • Experience in social safeguards implementation (e.g., World Bank ESF, IFC Performance Standards).
  • Demonstrated expertise in community engagement and stakeholder management.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for social indicators.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
