Job Title: Solar Technical Representatives
Reports to: Solar Technical Team Manager
StarTimes Group is looking for experienced Solar Field Technicians to join its vibrant Off Grid Solar Technical Sales Representatives.
Objective of the Position: The Solar Technical Sales Representatives will be responsible for the supervision of a specified number of system installation, servicing, and maintenance teams of Solar PV and energy storage systems.
The successful candidates should have a very keen understanding and implementation of structural and electrical engineering concepts and have a hands on experience on the same.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimating, budgeting, designing, and project management of Solar PV installation and maintenance contracts.
- Recruitment and Supervision of a vibrant team of Installation Agents to work with you in meeting the orders and reaching out to new clients.
- Participate in site assessments to assess suitability for solar panel installation
- Preparation of material schedule summary reports, electrical plans, technical specifications, line diagrams, and other project documentation for management review.
- Design and installation of Solar Power Backups systems and solar PV systems and home systems based on customer needs and site specifications.
- Supervision of the installation of racking, solar panels, electrical components, and wiring, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Supervision of electrical wiring and grounding according to code requirements.
- Ensure proper testing and validation the installation and verify performance and efficiency.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on solar systems and troubleshoot any issues.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all installation and maintenance activities.
- Work effectively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient installation process.
- Provide service and customer support during field visits and also provide reports on client feedback.
- Tie workflow to schedules and ensure timelines are met.
- Manage site surveys, call-outs and maintenance effectively.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
- Commissioning of solar systems.
- Follow all Health Safety Environment and Quality guidelines for work safety, and actively participate in preparation meetings for upcoming projects.
- Assist Sales Department in Business Development by introducing new clients
- Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications / Skills / Competencies:
- A Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or any other qualification with considerable experience in solar sales and installation.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the solar industry, with leading solar products service providers is an added advantage.
You might have an added advantage if you have a:
- Have a T1, T2 or T3 or equivalent qualification.
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in solar panel installation or a related field.
- Have knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and their components.
- Have a working knowledge of electrical fundamentals according to Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
- Are able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Have experience working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Should have excellent physical condition with the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
