Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in all culinary operations at Shompole Camp. This role is perfect for a chef ready to take the next step in a purpose-driven, remote safari environment, assisting in the creation of world-class dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Supervise and mentor the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Manage stock, ensure proper storage, and assist with ordering to minimize waste.
  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen.
  • Contribute creatively to menu development and special guest requests.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-end lodge or restaurant.
  • A strong culinary skillset with a passion for fresh, high-quality food.
  • Experience working in a remote environment is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
