The Regional Sponsorship Coordinator/Specialist provides strategic support and technical leadership to the region in regard to implementation of World Vision Sponsorship priorities. The Regional Sponsorship Coordinator is a critical role in establishing and maintaining effective and efficient sponsorship business systems and operational procedures; effective data management and use; and sufficient FO capacity for their implementation. The position provides leadership in strategic monitoring and operational support in sponsorship business processes, business systems capability, sponsorship management and quality assurance, supporter engagement and sponsor features, and risk management and mitigation. This position also establishes strong liaison with RO and GC technical teams to ensure provision of support to the region for stronger sponsorship management.

Responsibilities or duties

Policy and Standards:

  • Serve as technical support and key thought leader on Sponsorship in the region, including support to development of guidance, tools, and strong implementation of policy, standards, management approach, strategic objectives and priorities, operating model, and business processes.
  • Support FOs to establish systems and mechanism to ensure adherence and compliance to CS policies and standard. Monitor standards and policies implementation and engage RO and FO leadership on areas requiring their intervention.

Child participation & business processes:

  • Lead and coordinate strategic regional-level efforts for strong child participation and ongoing quality improvement of sponsorship business processes and deliverables for stronger child participation, including sponsor engagement features, in close coordination with the Regional Sponsorship Lead.

Data analytics:

  • Coordinate regional-level sponsorship data analyses effort to inform strategic coordination, ongoing business process improvement, and capacity building efforts across offices in the region.
  • Coordinate with the RO Sponsorship Lead to engage RO and FO with strategic sponsorship analytical information and reports to influence RO and FO leadership decision making and strategic choices in regard to sponsorship operations.

Operational review process:

  • Lead and coordinate region-wide operational and performance review processes with RO and FO leadership guidance to input into sponsorship priorities within RO for planning, budgeting and performance feedback.

Strategic engagement for stronger programmatic and operational integration

  • Support Regional Sponsorship Lead to connect, collaborate, and establish strategic partnership with technical teams e.g. DME, LEAP and CESP, safeguarding/Child Protection, education, health, gender, micro-enterprise development, etc. that enables stronger programmatic and operational integration.

Leadership:

  • Engage RO and FO with strategic sponsorship analytical information and reports to influence RO and FO leadership decision making and strategic choices in regard to sponsorship operations.
  • Provide technical leadership to respective national office sponsorship technical teams.

Organisational capacity building:

  • Support National office teams to build capacity in sponsorship operations and business processes.
  • Provide guidance to the FOs to implement the Sponsorship capacity building framework and plans; and other global capacity building initiatives.
  • Identify potential in the NOs to build up peer coaching support teams across the region.

Learning and Knowledge Management:

  • Work with national offices across the region to promote and implement identified promising practices.
  • Be partner for change to GC to provide learning, recommendations and reflections for ongoing improvement.

Innovation:

  • Guide and provide information to National Offices on the latest Partnership developments in sponsorship and coordinate National Office involvement in Partnership initiatives and projects.
  • Work with Global Centre in developing, piloting and rolling out sponsorship initiatives; and provide guidance on field reality to inform contextualization and ongoing improvements.

Business Systems and Operational Capacity Building:

  • Lead the implementation of National Office capacity building effort focusing on operational aspects and business systems support in coordination with GC Sponsorship and WVIT, specifically on: Sponsorship Operations Indicators (systems, database, reporting), Sponsorship 2.0, sponsor features, and other rich media, Horizon Sponsorship Single User Interface (SSUI) / Horizon HOPE, Horizon desktop and mobile applications.
  • Ongoing review of FO operations for identification of support needs and coordinate provision of the needed support with GC teams (Sponsorship, WVIT, others).
  • Coordinate consistent review of the various sponsorship systems databases, users’ understanding, databases usage and performance, and coordinate with the Regional Sponsorship Lead on urgent action items, risks, and any issue requiring escalation.
  • Assist in the development, testing and application of capacity building and operational resources relevant to all sponsorship business systems in coordination with regional and global sponsorship teams.
  • Conduct national office sponsorship capacity review and develop capacity building plans in consultation with the National Office Sponsorship Managers/Directors.

Business Systems and Operational Support:

  • Facilitate and adequately support the enhanced utilisation of Horizon HOPE in alignment with global and regional sponsorship strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Coordinate with WVIT-SSS technical support group (Helpdesk) in resolving issues raised by National Offices and/or Area Programmes’ sponsorship business systems operations.
  • Facilitates the implementation of new business systems initiatives and digital transformations through capacity building of National Offices in coordination with the Regional Sponsorship Lead.
  • Review National Offices’ inputs to Service Operations Indicators (SOI) databases for timeliness, completeness and accuracy, as well as operational trends indicating performance, risks, opportunities and needs for support.
  • Design mechanism to improve FOs’ effective use of sponsorship business systems to support strong performance across National Offices.

  • Work with GC and participate and share learning in the respective global sponsorship learning networks.

Risk Management and Mitigation:

  • Support the monitoring of National Office International Audits including reports, management action plans and status updates working closely with national offices.
  • Coordinate and provide structured and ongoing technical follow-up support to the national offices with poor sponsorship performance.
  • Provides technical support for monitoring and addressing on-going risk management processes assuring accountability, transparency and integrity to children, programme communities and sponsors.
  • Follow-up audit by ongoing monitoring and review of sponsorship performance report specifically on the issues identified during the audit. Coordinate with Regional Sponsorship Lead to provide the necessary technical support to the FO.
  • Work with Regional Sponsorship Lead to support FOs and ensure timely review and provision of sponsorship analytics and RC data on key risk factors, and support FO to take appropriate actions.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree preferred; preferred degree in management or a social science field or other relevant area.
  • Demonstrated community and staff facilitation skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
