Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Team Management
  • Lead production personnel by assigning tasks, offering feedback, and managing performance
  • Guide and coach team members to maintain productivity and morale
  • Production Oversight
  • Monitor end-to-end steel production processes, ensuring timelines, quality benchmarks, and safety standards are met
  • Resource Allocation
  • Efficiently manage manpower, equipment, and materials to minimize downtime and waste
  • Safety Enforcement
  • Enforce workplace safety protocols and conduct regular risk assessments to safeguard staff

  • Inspect outputs, troubleshoot product inconsistencies, and implement quality improvements
  • Problem Solving
  • Identify bottlenecks and equipment issues, implementing timely and effective solutions
  • Training & Development
  • Onboard new employees and coordinate ongoing skill development within the production team
  • Communication & Reporting
  • Prepare production reports and maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with senior management and operational teams on performance updates and strategic initiatives
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Analyse production data to identify areas for efficiency and cost optimization
  • Drive improvements in processes and team performance

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing setting, steel production highly preferred

STEEL PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

  • Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, or a related qualification in Mechanical Engineering,
  • Production Technology, or Metal Processing
  • Specific certifications in welding, fabrication, or quality control are advantageous
  • Strong understanding of steel production processes, equipment, and QA procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams
  • Commitment to enforcing safety regulations and workplace compliance

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication across production staff, management, and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize workflows and resolve production challenges
  • High degree of organization, able to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and documentation simultaneously
  • Digital literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and basic production reporting tools
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the capacity to identify efficiencies and reduce operational costs
