Job Summary

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the kitchen by ensuring all utensils, dishes, equipment, and work areas are clean and ready for use. The role supports smooth kitchen operations while maintaining high hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Clean kitchen workstations, floors, and storage areas.
• Dispose of waste according to health and safety procedures.
• Organize and store cleaned equipment properly.
• Assist with receiving and storing supplies where required.
• Support kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Report equipment damage or maintenance issues promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices.

Experience

• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or commercial kitchen is an added advantage.
