Role Description

The Strategy Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya.

The role involves leading strategic planning initiatives, including market and competitive analysis, business performance reviews, and identification of growth opportunities across the Group’s insurance and financial services portfolio.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and refining strategic frameworks, preparing executive-level presentations and reports, coordinating cross-functional projects, and supporting implementation of key strategic initiatives.

The Strategy Manager will collaborate with senior leadership and business unit heads, provide insights to guide decision-making, and track progress against strategic objectives to ensure alignment with the Group’s vision and mission.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis.
  • Consulting and Management Consulting experience, with a focus on strategy development and execution.
  • Finance knowledge, including financial modeling, performance analysis, and understanding of insurance or financial services.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in strategy roles within financial services, insurance, or related sectors is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; a relevant advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and alignment with ICEA LION Group’s values
