Our client in the hospitality industry is seeking to recruit a qualified Supervisor in line with the job description outlined below.
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / General Manager
Location: Karen, Nairobi
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant/bar operations, ensuring high service standards, managing staff on shift, and maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Supervise daily operations during assigned shifts.
- Ensure smooth coordination between service staff, bar, and kitchen.
- Monitor service quality and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and motivate waiters and support staff.
- Prepare shift schedules and manage staff attendance.
- Conduct briefings before service to communicate daily targets and updates.
- Ensure grooming and uniform standards are maintained.
Customer Service
- Greet and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements where necessary.
Administrative & Control Duties
- Oversee billing accuracy and cash handling procedures.
- Monitor stock levels of beverages and service supplies.
- Assist in inventory checks and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant or bar.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of food, beverages, and service standards.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
